AFAN-CJ Leads Climate Awareness and Stakeholder Engagement Initiatives in Benin
Between 13th and 16th March 2026, the African Faith Actors Network on Climate Justice (AFAN-CJ) successfully implemented a series of country-level initiatives aimed at raising awareness on climate change and strengthening collaboration among key stakeholders for climate action in Benin.
A key highlight of the initiative was a public March held to showcase the AFAN-CJ's work and vision on addition to providing opportunity for engagements on environmental stewardship among local institutions.
The program also featured a multi-stakeholder meeting between AFAN-CJ members and traditional leaders, civil society representatives, policymakers and the media to engage on how to foster collaborative climate action and strengthen community resilience to the impacts of climate change. During the meeting, Rev. Dr. Mwombeki delivered a message of solidarity, encouraging the AFAN-CJ to sustain the momentum it has created in mobilizing faith communities for climate justice.
Stakeholders present at the meeting committed to strengthening collaboration with AFAN-CJ in advancing climate justice initiatives in Benin.
