The discussion will highlight the urgent need to integrate ethical principles, human rights, and intergenerational justice into funding strategies for addressing loss and damage. It is aimed at calling upon duty bearers to foster inclusive, just, and equitable funding mechanisms that ensure that the most vulnerable populations are supported and protected but also ensure that the future generations inherit a safe and sustainable world.

This event has been organized in collaboration with Christian Aid at COP 28. The panelists will critically examine the intersection between financing, human rights, and climate justice from a faith and ethics perspective. Conversations will interrogate the role of faith actors in mobilizing communities for climate action and advocating for climate justice issues. Our panel will be comprised of faith leaders, policy experts, and negotiators with expertise and experience in advocating for climate justice and finance.
